The most helpless sentence in the world
"I haven\'t smoked a cigarette in my life, but I was killed by someone else\'s cigarette."
You know, this is not an alarmist story.
A report from Harvard University showed that women with lung cancer accounted for 2/3 of non-smokers.
Not smoking directly does not mean that you will be free from the poison of tobacco.
There are 316 million smokers in my country, but 740 million people are threatened by second-hand smoke. 180 million of them are still children.
Every year, as many as 100,000 Chinese die from second-hand smoke.
How "toxic" is second-hand smoke?
Research confirms the harm of secondhand smoke. Compared with real smokers, it is more harmful to the human body. Compared with first-hand smoke, second-hand smoke is equivalent to inhaling 3 times more tar and nicotine, 5 times more carbon monoxide, 50 times more nitrosamines (a strong carcinogen), and 46 times more ammonia.
So people who smoke in public are no different from "drug dealers".
If there are smokers at home, it is even more terrifying. Even if "second-hand smoke" can be avoided, it is difficult to avoid the pervasive "third-hand smoke".
Harmful particles and gases from cigarettes can adhere to walls, furniture, clothes, and even hair and skin. Stay for days, months or even years. Continue to release toxic carcinogens.
Health cannot be restored. Quitting smoking as soon as possible is a self-help for smokers. Colleagues are also protecting people they care about. I hope that one day, each of us can breathe freely in a smoke-free environment.
